Evolution Golf offers virtual play in a clubhouse-like environment. Ensconced in one of six private rooms, club-slinging players drive, chip, and putt on their choice of 50 challenging courses pre-programmed on the AboutGolf simulator, including Pebble Beach and the Old Course at St. Andrews. One hour is about enough time for a single player to get through eighteen holes. While waiting their turn, players can get sedentary in seductively smooth leather chairs, feasting their sports-hungry orbs on games broadcast on the room’s flatscreen TV. Fuel tanks can also be satisfied by filling up on snacks and drinks from the lounge. Depending on their preference, players can choose to bring their own clubs, rent them on-site (for an additional $10 fee), or build them with Scotch tape, a box of matches, and a dream.
