Before the invention of the chainsaw—which quickly led to chainsaw juggling—big burly lumberjacks had to pass the time by mastering the art of axe throwing. Though times have changed, at Jack-Axe, visitors of all fitness and skill levels can still learn to notch a bull’s-eye during sessions at this very unique range. Jack-Axe’s seasoned axe throwers are on hand to provide safety training and skill tips to help hone throwing technique. The 5,200-square-foot indoor arena offers other woodsman activities, too. Using traditional tree-climbing gear, including heel spikes and a short rope, guests can shimmy up a 20-foot pole. And to test their coordination without fear of plunging into an unfriendly river, Jack-Axe even has a dry-land log birling apparatus on site.
