With today’s Groupon to The Power Center boot camps are held at Big Miller Park, G. H. V. Bulyea Park, and off 88 Street in Sunnyside. Choose between the following options:

  • For $49, you get two boot camp sessions a week for four weeks (a $130 value).
  • For $69, you get four weeks of unlimited boot camp sessions (a $240 value).

The Power Center’s outdoor boot camps take place in the fresh, sunny environs of local parks, where knowledgeable instructors guide athletes of all levels through vigorous workouts. The one-hour boot camp boasts an ever-changing lineup of drills that intersperse calisthenics with intense, muscle-moulding plyometrics and power-yoga poses. Instructors craft workouts to increase the body’s range of motion, stabilize joints, and improve flexibility, all of which enhance the emotional and physical impact of high-fives. Kettlebells, ladders, hurdles, and resistance bands all make regular guest appearances throughout sessions.

Those who opt for unlimited boot camp can attend class five days a week to challenge the body, a welcome shift from the mind, which is constantly challenged when attempting to read nondigital clocks. Peruse the schedule here. Participants need not bring anything to class but dumbbells and a water bottle to share with nearby flowerbeds.
