Today’s Groupon to Khazana. Choose between the following options:

  • For $12, you get $24 worth of Indian fare for dinner. Main entrees range from $12 to $28.
  • For $7, you get an Indian lunch buffet (a $14.50 value).

Hailing from India, Khazana’s chefs build a procession of traditional Northern Indian cuisine, often firing their dishes in a clay tandoor-style oven. Diners may taste an array of hearty beef, lamb, vegetarian, and chicken dishes such as gulnari tikka, chicken marinated in yogourt and ginger and baked in the clay tandoor. Tongues execute Olympic dives into badshahi gobhi’s cauliflower in tumeric and yellow chilies, or the simmered beef and yellow lentils of daal gosht. Karaiwala paneer pits cheese against peppers and onions in a spicy contest without the strict no-fisticuffs rules found in most competitions. Diners can ease down bites with drinks such as imported and local beers, wines, juices, and traditional lassi. During lunchtime’s open buffet, taste buds traipse through a series of twelve hot dishes, eight salads, piles of naan bread, and five traditional desserts.

Khazana’s name translates to “treasure” in English, and staffers imbue their restaurant’s spiced dishes and rustic decor with greater royalty than a hug from a lion. Diners sit at thick bare-wood tables surrounded by decorative Indian tapestries, vases, and tile art. A central open fireplace warms guests with crackling flames emerging from a paved stone pit.
