Customers come into the shop and assemble meals from prepared ingredients, order and pick up already-composed feasts, or select dishes from the Grab ‘N Go fridge. Freezer-ready meals can be assembled 6 or 12 at a time for 2–3 or 4–6 diners. Six meals serving 2–3 cost $95, and 12 meals serving 2–3 cost $170; six meals for 4–6 cost $168 and 12 meals for 4–6 cost $298. An additional fee of $15 for six meals and $30 for 12 meals is charged when customers opt for pick-up. Grab ‘N Go meals include noshes from the monthly menu as well as some popular staples such as stuffed chicken breasts and pastas ($18.95 for 2–3 servings, $31.95 for 4–6 servings). Book your assembly session over the phone or online.

The founders of Servings understand the stress of whipping up a healthy meal for the whole family—because they experience it themselves. Employees at the family-owned business lift the burden of dinnertime from parents’ shoulders, so they don’t have to resort to fast food or sending someone out to hunt and gather. Their quality ingredients, such as Alberta beef, often hail from local sources and make up fresh, flavourful meals that rotate according to a monthly menu. They focus on compiling nutritious components, including ingredients low in fat and sodium, as well as lean cuts of meat and vegetarian options.

Customers collect their feasts in one of three ways. They can book a session and pop in to the store to create their own freezer-ready meals 6 or 12 at a time, which serve either 2–3 or 4–6 people. Staffers tackle all of the shopping and prep ahead of time, only leaving assembly and artistic flourishes up to visitors. An alternative to assembly is ordering ahead and allowing employees to craft meals for a designated pickup time. Thirdly, diners can survey a Grab ‘N Go fridge of to-go meals and snatch their favourite.
