Island Cafe & Bistro is inspired by the owners’ Malaysian heritage, and serves up some of the island nation’s favorite dishes. Meals might begin with an order of deep-fried buns in curry sauce, a perfect complement to entrees of vegetarian curry or spicy chicken drumlets. There are more than a dozen specialty dishes, too, including Malaysian–style pork ribs in an herbal soup studded with veggies and rice. Even the beverage menu reflects native flavors thanks to plenty of bubble teas and white coffee, a mixture of coffee and bubble tea. Island Cafe recently introduced a game night with card games, board games, and video games, but not baseball because you’re not supposed to play ball in the house.
