YEG Deals: Edmonton to New York City - $423 roundtrip after taxes - throughout schedule
I just saw this incredible flight deal posted over at our friends Chris Myden’s site YEG Deals.
Delta just made a large unadvertised price cut on their flights to Newark (EWR). It seems to have affected flights all the way up to August of 2012. Anyone thinking of going to New York in the next year may want to have a look today.

YEG DEALs: Labour Day in Mexico? Edmonton to Los Cabos, Mexico - $208 roundtrip after taxes
I just saw this incredible flight deal posted over at our friends Chris Myden’s site YEG Deals.
September 3rd to 10th from Edmonton to Los Cabos, Mexico (SJD) has dropped to $208 roundtrip after taxes. The next cheapest flights are around $580 so it’s a true 65% discount.

YEG Deals: Edmonton to Thailand has gone sub $900 roundtrip after tax

You might remember last week I was excited when flights to Thailand and Vietnam went under $1000 roundtrip after tax.
Well, today, Bangkok has dropped to the sub $900 price level, a new low that I’ve never seen before.

REMINDER: Air Canada - Flights within Canada on sale (Book by Aug 18)
I originally posted about this deal last week. Here’s a reminder that the sale ends tomorrow so get them before they’re gone!
Air Canada currently has a sale on flights within Canada. Travel until December 15th. Book by August 18. After taking a look at their website, I noticed the sale only applies on flights on a Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday.
Eligible dates for this promotion*
Advance purchase: purchase at least 7 days prior to your departure date
Travel dates: between Wed 17-Aug, 2011 and Thu 15-Dec, 2011
Travel days: Tuesdays, Wednesdays or Thursdays

YEG Deals: Thailand, Vietnam, and Indonesia are all under $1000 roundtrip after tax at the moment
I just saw this incredible flight deal posted over at our friends Chris Myden’s site YEGDeals.
Those $747 flights to Taiwan, which are incredibly, still hanging around, kind of overshadowed some other amazing prices to SE Asia that are currently available.
Most of the discounted ones are on United, and up to late October/early November. Here are some examples:
Saigon, Vietnam - $983 CDN roundtrip after tax

They’re all a good 25-35% cheaper than the next cheapest fares. Any time you can get to SE Asia for around $1200 you’re doing very well. Under $1000 is very rare.

YEG Deals: Calgary to Miami - $362 roundtrip after tax - throughout winter
I just saw this incredible flight deal posted over at our friends Chris Myden’s site YEG Deals.
There seems to be one of those freak price drops on United at the moment. I do see these on rare occasion, where they affect prices throughout many months in their schedule, all the way up to a year ahead.
They’ve dropped their prices to Miami to be nearly 50% cheaper than the next cheapest airline.
For comparison, Orlando and Fort Lauderdale are usually priced about the same as Miami, and they’re currently at $735 and $831 roundtrip for the cheapest flights in February.
Here’s a sample search in January for example…

But it should be noted that they seem to be available in nearly every month at the moment.
If you do a search on Kayak, and continue on to a booking site, you may want to choose Expedia or Cheaptickets (owned by Orbitz). The link from Kayak to United.com’s site may give you headaches since it will only accept US credit cards. (Although you could just use Kayak to search for the dates and then perform a search on United.ca - which does accept CDN credit cards).
Also note that some of the United flight combos have more than 1 stopover, so deselect ‘2+ stops’ on the top left of Kayak after you perform a search.
