Nestled one block north of the downtown Grant MacEwan University campus, Social Modern Pub welcomes patrons into its friendly dining room to devour upscale pub fare, refreshing cocktails, and heaping helpings of good old-fashioned conversation. The menu elevates traditional pub fare by lending a upscale twist to classic favourites, such as made-to-order pizzas smothered in steak, spinach, feta, and homemade garlic-cream sauce, or hand-formed burgers topped with house-made slaw, crème fraîche, and an optional hood ornament from a 1953 Rolls Royce. Culinary carpenters also build tender steak sandwiches from lustrous slabs of Sterling Silver AAA grade beef. Bartenders shake 2-ounce cocktails and martinis until 2 a.m. Friday and Saturday nights, showing off their drink-slinging prowess from behind a rustic, stacked-stone bar.
