The trainers at Healthy Rhino realized a sad truth about working out and eating right: most people know they should, but they don’t really want to. So they decided to do things differently at Healthy Rhino, ensuring that their clients have a good time and learn how to balance living life with reaching their health goals. The trainers reject the one-size-fits-all philosophy of diet and exercise, and instead, they get to know their clients so they can help them reach their individual goals. In addition to personal training, instructors offer between two and five “un-boot-camp” group classes every day to fit every schedule, and the classes are capped at 10 people so everyone still benefits from the instructor’s attention and encouragement. They also design custom meal plans to help everyone stay on track with healthy eating habits more effectively than just swapping out candy corn for real corn.

The gym’s colourful walls and chalk body outlines on the floor speak to the staff’s offbeat sense of humour and energy. And rather than modeling their workouts off another programs’, they’ve developed their own routines, down to their own names for exercises—such as the Princess Leia and the Homer Simpson.
